The Oireachtas Banking Inquiry today, Thursday 15th January 2015 agreed to write to various institutions to which its terms of reference relate issuing directions to seek documents and other material to assist its work.<\/p>\n
The institutions and Departments being contacted are:<\/p>\n
\u2022 AIB (also covering EBS)
\n\u2022 Bank of Ireland
\n\u2022 Permanent TSB (also covering IL&P)
\n\u2022 Ulster Bank
\n\u2022 Special Liquidator IBRC (covering Anglo and INBS)
\n\u2022 Department of Finance
\n\u2022 Department of the Taoiseach<\/p>\n
Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD: \u201cIn December, the Committee wrote to AIB, Bank of Ireland, Permanent TSB, Ulster Bank, the special liquidator to the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, the Department of Finance and the Department of the Taoiseach seeking documents and a range of relevant material which will assist us in our work in preparation for the Nexus phase public hearings due to commence in April 2015. During the Nexus phase, we will engage with institutions and individuals who had roles during the crisis. Written submissions were received from the various institutions in early January and we are pleased with the co-operation we have received so far. The Committee is now formally directing the institutions to provide the information requested along with the sequence and timing as to when the material will arrive.\u201d<\/p>\n
