Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Acts 1997 & 2003 are designed to allow public access to records held by public bodies that are not routinely available through other sources. The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission and the Houses of the Oireachtas Service have prepared a guide outlining people’s rights under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Acts 1997 & 2003, and to assist people in exercising those rights.

FOI Guide

The guide has been issued in accordance with Sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Acts 1997 and 2003 and provides details of how to make an FOI application.

Any FOI requests regarding the Banking Inquiry should be emailed to foi@oireachtas.ie. This is the only e-mail address that may be used to submit a valid FOI request. An FOI application template document is also available to ensure all required details are provided with your request.

Note: Following the enactment of the Freedom of Information Act 2014, the €15 fee for non-personal FoI requests no longer applies.
