The Joint Committee of Inquiry into the Banking Crisis today, Friday 26th September 2014, submitted a detailed proposal for the banking inquiry to the Committees on Procedure and Privileges (CPP) of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann. The proposal has also been published on the Oireachtas.ie website.Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD: “The Committee today, Friday 26th September, submitted its proposal to the Committees on Procedure and Privileges of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann. This document outlines the relevant proposal, which includes a framework for the inquiry plan, the different phases of the inquiry and its draft terms of reference. We are happy that the proposal has been completed, agreed and submitted on schedule within the timeframe we had set out. This reflects the co-operative and positive approach that the Committee has adopted in how we set about our work. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Committee members for their hard work and commitment in preparing this proposal. The proposal, which is now publicly available on the Oireachtas website, will now go for the consideration of the CPPs and is expected to be returned to the Houses by mid-October.”
