The Committee, which has been tasked with preparing a detailed proposal for the banking inquiry, will meet in private at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, 17th September, 2014.
Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD: “At tomorrow’s meeting, the Committee will resume its discussions on the purpose, scope and timeline of the inquiry when it will receive a final report from the ad hoc advisory group established to provide expert knowledge and input to the Committee in developing a relevant proposal for the inquiry. The group, which is working on a pro-bono basis, was provided with a high-level scoping document agreed by the Committee which included the broad purpose of the inquiry along with a consolidated document of Committee members’ inputs. It was tasked with advising on a draft inquiry framework and an inquiry plan based on the Committee’s high-level scoping document. Having presented an interim report in July, the group since then has been working on progressing a more detailed design of the inquiry concept with a view to presenting a further progressed proposal to the Committee. We’re looking forward to receiving the group’s report tomorrow which will help to inform a relevant proposal for the inquiry which will be submitted to the CPPs of both Houses.”
