Oireachtas Banking Inquiry to hear from Prof Gregory Connor and Prof Eamonn Walsh

Professor Gregory Connor, NUI Maynooth, and Professor Eamonn Walsh, UCD, will appear before the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry as it continues its public hearings, tomorrow, Wednesday, 25th February 2015.

Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD: “Gregory Connor is a professor at the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting. His research Interests include portfolio risk analysis, factor modelling, financial econometrics, security market pricing. Tomorrow, as part of our context hearings phase, the Committee will hear from Professor Connor when we will concentrate on funding and capital risks in banks and governance controls and oversight and early warnings.”

“Following this meeting, we will hear from Professor Eamonn Walsh, Professor of Accounting at UCD. Professor Walsh has served as Dean of the Smurfit School of Business and Chairman of the Accounting Department. His primary research, teaching and consulting interests are in the areas of financial analysis, equity valuation and US securities markets. He will address issues relating to accounting standards and the role of external auditors.”

The hearing with Professor Connor starts at 9.30am in Committee 1, Leinster House. The meeting with Professor Walsh will take place at 11.45am.
