Michael McGrath

michael-mcgrathDeputy Michael McGrath is a Fianna Fáil TD for the Cork South-Central constituency. He previously served on the Passage West Town Council and on Cork County Council. He was elected to the Dáil in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.

Deputy McGrath is currently the Spokesperson on Finance for Fianna Fáil. He is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and previously served as a member of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee.

Deputy McGrath graduated from UCC with a first class honours degree in Commerce. He subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant having trained with KPMG in Cork City. He is currently a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Before entering politics full-time, he worked as a Financial Controller of a medium sized enterprise in Cork and as Head of Management Information and Systems in UCC.
